Advocacy Course 2016

The IRSV FWC Advocacy Training Program (“Program”) is on again this year.   The Program is a skill-based program directed at advocacy skills for appearances in FWC. The program includes theory and practical components and is a great opportunity for new advocates to learn new skills and for more experienced advocates to refresh their knowledge. 

This year, the program will be conducted by former Senior Deputy President Brian Lacy of the Australian Industrial Relations Commission and Chris O'Grady, QC, a member of the Industrial Bar, together with a range of experienced advocates and members for the FWC who work with participants in the workshop sessions.

Seminars and workshops will be conducted on the following dates:

The program of study began on Wednesday, 13 July 2016 (6.00pm - 9.00pm)

This preliminary lecture will be followed by another on Wednesday, 20 July 2016 (6.00pm - 9.00pm) at Victoria University, Queen St Campus, Melbourne.

Two Full Day Skill Workshops will then be held on Saturday, 23 July 2016 (9.30am - 5.00pm) and Saturday, 30 July 2016 (9.30am - 5.00pm) at FWC, 11 Exhibition Street, Melbourne.

A Summing Up Session/Cocktail function to conclude the Program on Tuesday, 2 August 2016 (6.00pm - 8.00pm)

Cost: $1,200.00 plus GST for Members and $1400.00 for Non Members.
